- One week off - A trip to Norway, work, climbing and even more Lolland
I have been keeping
an eye on the weather forecast for Norway around the
mountains around Eikesdalen. There was an open window
with okay weather for both saturday (20/7) and sunday. I took
the chance and left Tina and Copenhagen every early (3
am) saturday and began the 11 hour long drive north.
After Göteborg I took a power nap for 2 hours and then
drove on. I took a detour east around
Rondane national
park. I arrived in the late afternoon and found a good
camping spot. My plan was to sleep on the backseat - I
am just to old for tent and so on bla. bla. But the back seat was
horrible. I woke like a million times and around 2 am I
change to the front passenger seat which could be
lowered much. That was much better and I kind of slept.
The weather and
temperature was perfect sunday morning and I drove a bit
back on the gravel road where I could park and went for
the walk I had planed. I had a very light backpack with
almost nothing except a first aid kit, GPS, A bit water,
food and biscuits. I am not in the same shape as like 4
years ago - that was very clear. But it was a nice long
all day walk. Afterward I went back to the previously
parking spot and finished the day with a very cold bath
in the mountain lake with melt water from the mountains.
I woke up early monday to much different weather. It was
raining and just over 10 degrees. The weather forecast
had indicated this would happen and it would be like
this for the next three days. So I took the long 11 hour
drive home again. I was back in Copenhagen around early
evening.

However now the
weather forecast for Lolland was extremely good - some
on tuesday morning I again left Tina and Copenhagen and
drove down to our summerhouse on Lolland and continued
my one week of vacation. On friday I picked up Tina at
the station and she joined me for the weekend.
In the garden we
have this walnut tree. I have been saving a bottle of
Zubrowka bison grass vodka for this occasion. Now it has
to settle for 4 months before mixing up and drinking.
Home made walnut schnapps! It is not how bad could it be
- it is how good will it be!
I also began
dismantling the garage even more - removing almost the
hole roof and driving the trash to the recycling
station.
On saturday with
Tina in the house we agreed on a "how hard is it to
change the toilet project". I began checking if the old
one could be loosen and freed. Then we drove to Jem &
Fix and bought the
model we wanted. It was the same brand as the old
one. It turn out to be a pull, plug and play job. All
the important holes matched up. It was a kind of an easy
quick win. Now we don't have to worry about a leaking
toilet anymore.

I was back a work on
monday. It was still very quite because of the many
coworkers on vacation. But somehow someone might have
brought something back. On tuesday I fell not sick but
that something might be on the way. Some pills helped
and I stilled went to work. Later I had a session at the
climbing gym. I don't know if I got a double tap at the
gym or if I just was out of power - but I was tired. We
all had to work fro home wednesday to friday because of
a re interior design at work. Because I didn't wanted to
pass anything on to Tina I drove down to our summerhouse
very early on wednesday morning. My health has been a
bit up and down wednesday up to today.
Wednesday evening I
made a stew with ground beef, home grown beetroot and
carrots. I served it with fresh pasta. On thursday I
saw, that Red Cross at
Nakskov
had a used workstation table for sale. Our old table was
just a portable party table. It took more than an hour
to install all the wires and devices right and to pack
all the wires below the table in the cable cover.
The new table is super nice and it can be elevated up
and down to the high I like.
I haven't done much
heavy work because I still feel just a bit offset. The
farmers have started harvesting the fields around us
which leave a lot of dust in the air. This night I
coughed and coughed. Hopeful it will be better tomorrow.
Next week I will be
back in Copenhagen working. I then might take a three
weeks offline with no updates.
